August Eclipse Photo Contest Winner: Jim Hartsing

For less than a few hours on Monday, August 21st, our pals across the United States witnessed a rare astronomical event—a total solar eclipse whose path cut clear across America. We asked our pals to submit their shots of this beautiful event and have their friends vote on the best image. While we received many beautiful photos, Jim Hartsing’s was the clear winner! See the photo for yourself below.

The Winning Eclipse Photograph

Jim captured this photo in Guthrie, KY, which he traveled to in order to see the eclipse in the line of totality. The shot this image at ISO 400 with a shutter speed 1/80. The aperture to F/8. Jim used the Canon EF 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6L lens rented from The LensPal.
