Before we begin, we would just like to point out that this is a technique we used and by no means do we think it is the only way to obtain this type of style!
To achieve this look, we visited our partner Spectacle Photography‘s studio space. We placed our subject about 8ft away from the white backdrop and set up the Profoto Acutes on each side of our subject, directly at a 90° angle.
We adjusted the height of each light to reach just above our subject’s head. We then asked the subject to position themselves at a 45° angle from the photographer who was about 15ft away from the subject. In order to fire off the acutes, you’ll need to have at least two transceivers, one attached to the power pack that comes with the Acutes and one attached to the camera. Thankfully we have the PocketWizard Plus III Transceivers in stock.
The settings of the camera were as follow:
- F-Stop: F/32
- Exposure: 1/125 sec
- ISO Speed: ISO 100
- Focal Length: 110mm
- Max Aperture: 3
